Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest outing ‘Jailer’ is continuing its dream run in theatres in its second week. Many theatres across the globe are still going houseful. On its 19th day at the box office, the film is estimated to have earned Rs 3 crore net in India. Even though it is a steep drop from Sunday’s (August 27) collection, it is still a decent number for a weekday. In Tamil Nadu, the film crossed Rs 175 crore. 

‘JAILER’ EARNS OVER RS 175 CRORE IN TAMIL NADU 

‘Jailer’ released in theatres on August 10 with much fanfare. The film is now marching towards Rs 600 crore worldwide. 

In the last 19 days, ‘Jailer’ has shattered several box office records. The film is estimated to have earned Rs 3 crore on Monday, August 28. This takes the 19-day total collection to Rs 319.35 crore net in India. The film had an overall occupancy of 25.56 per cent on Monday. 

According to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, ‘Jailer’ has crossed the Rs 175 crore (gross) in Tamil Nadu. The film is likely to continue its march for a couple more weeks as there are no big releases to take it on till Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ releases on September 7.

Written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, ‘Jailer’ is a commercial action entertainer featuring Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The film also features Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan and Vasanth Ravi in lead roles. Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Jackie Shroff appeared in explosive cameo roles in the film.
