• Diablo 4 players are facing mass bans due to cheating and exploiting bugs, such as the Seasonal Exploit which allowed transfers between realms.
  • Blizzard is taking a strong stance against exploits and is actively addressing game-breaking bugs to maintain a consistent gameplay experience.
  • Players who received bans have shared their experiences on social media, with some claiming innocence while others admit to knowingly using exploits.

Diablo 4 players are reportedly getting banned en masse as Blizzard cracks down on cheaters. Like many online games Diablo 4 has had its share of exploitable bugs that can be considered game breaking. A well-known and recent example is the so-called Seasonal Exploit that allowed players to transfer items between the Eternal and Seasonal realms including large amounts of gold.

The Diablo 4 Seasonal Exploit has been patched as of version 1.1.1 with many players who had used it reporting that they had been banned. Another exploit allowed players to repeat Nightmare Dungeons by switching party leaders is another such exploit. Blizzard has taken a hard stance against exploits and endeavors to keep the Diablo 4 experience as consistent as possible.

Banned Diablo 4 users have been sharing their experiences on social media. Some of them claim innocence while others report using exploits knowing the risks. Popular Diablo 4 boss tracking utility The Worldstone reports that there have been thousands of bans and goes on to appeal to the community to “remain vigilant against the temptations of cheating.” Blizzard itself has previously issued a stern warning about using third-party software in Diablo 4 as it violates the Terms of Service, which can result in a ban.For the most part, players looking to be immersed in the world of Diablo 4 seem to avoid exploitable glitches due to their game-breaking nature, but there is often a surprising number of players who wouldn’t think twice. Unfortunately cheating tends to negatively affect the experience for more honest players; for example, an honest player might receive a large sum of gold or rare items from another player who had used the Season Exploit and receive a ban.

While some glitches are exploitable, others can make the Diablo 4 experience frustrating. One such bug hampers player progress by preventing them from progressing past a Season 1 challenge called A Boon in the Tide. The game does not flag the challenge as complete, effectively bringing progression to a standstill. Blizzard is aware of the bug and is reportedly gearing up to release a fix due on or around August 15th. Between stamping out cheaters and other game-breaking bugs, it is clear that Blizzard has its work cut out and is doing its best to stay on top of things.
