From August 9 to August 15, there will be a campaign called Meri Mati Mera Desh to honor the troops who gave their lives in defense of the nation. This year, on August 15 India will commemorate its 77th anniversary of its independence. The ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in honor of the martyrs. Those who gave their lives in the ultimate act of patriotism before the nation’s Independence Day festivities.

The state governments as well as the Center have organized numerous activities. Across the nation to coincide with the campaign, which will run from August 9 to August 15. Students from Shri Swaminarayan Gurukul Vidyalaya in Surat, Gujarat, formed a human chain. That resembled the shape of India’s geography as the campaign got underway today.
