This latest batch includes individuals from various states, with the highest number, 67, coming from Punjab, followed by 33 from Haryana, 8 from Gujarat, and smaller numbers from Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra, and other regions. Notably, even remote areas like Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are represented among the deportees.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann welcomed the deportees at the international airport in Amritsar, expressing his government's commitment to facilitating their return. Arrangements have been made to transport the Punjab residents back to their hometowns, while those from other states will be temporarily housed in Punjab before being sent to their respective regions.

This deportation operation is part of the ongoing effort by the Trump Administration to tackle illegal immigration, which has been a cornerstone of its immigration policy. According to reports, a third flight, carrying an additional 157 deportees, is expected soon.

The impact of these deportations is significant, not only for the individuals affected but also for the broader geopolitical landscape, as migration issues continue to spark debates around the world.
