Delhi's Summer Heat Eases with Much-Needed Rain
Residents of Delhi can finally breathe a sigh of relief as rain hit the national capital on Thursday evening, significantly lowering temperatures and alleviating the intense summer heat. This welcome change comes as northwest India prepares for a western disturbance, which the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts will bring further weather variations.
On Thursday, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 25.9°C, but the maximum temperature is anticipated to soar to around 39°C on Friday. However, this brief spike in heat will be short-lived, as the influence of the western disturbance is set to alter weather patterns across the region. The IMD has indicated that thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are expected to continue, providing a much-needed respite from the prevailing heatwave conditions.
Currently, Noida and Gurugram are under a yellow alert, with the IMD forecasting cloudy skies, scattered showers, and wind speeds reaching up to 50 km/h until April 12. These conditions are likely to lower temperatures by approximately 2°C, offering comfort to residents. The IMD has advised citizens to stay prepared for the changing weather conditions, which are expected to remain pleasant until Saturday.
