Death of a 20-year-old youth namely Syam, said to be a fan of actor Jr.NTR has triggered big controversy in Dr . B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema District. The boy committed suicide by hanging at his relative’s house at Kadalivaripalem in Modekurru in Kothapeta Mandal on June 25. The boy belongs to Koppigunta village of Katrenikona Mandal and his parents are residing in Tirupathi. He frequently visits his maternal aunt at Kadalivaripalem. According to Konaseema District Superintendent of Police P. Sridhar, the youth was found dead early morning on June 25. Kothapeta Circle Inspector rushed to the spot and launched an investigation. It is a case of suicide by hanging and the case has been registered under Sec.174. Before hanging, the youth first cut his wrist with a blade, which was found in his pocket. The cause of death is suicide by hanging, according to the post-mortem report. The body was handed over to the parents and they have not made any objection to the investigation. He said that the preliminary investigation shows that he was involved in a love affair and he was weak in his studies.
Meanwhile, it is alleged that some YSRC leaders were involved in the case. Telugu Desam Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu demanded the government should make a comprehensive probe into the incident. He expressed sadness over the tragic and untimely demise of Shyam in a tweet. He said that there are suspicious circumstances surrounding the boy’s death and wanted justice to be served to his family members. There are allegations over the involvement of YSRC members which should be probed impartially, he said.
P.Sridhar, the superintendent of police in Konaseema, refuted Naidu’s claims. According to him, the claims that YSRCP members were involved in the case are unfounded and far from the truth.
There are rumors going around that the deceased may have had feelings for a Chintaluru girl. However, the Alamuru Sub-Inspector Siva Prasad was adamant that there was no connection to the Chintaluru or Kadali Vari Palem village, where the young man killed himself.
