Two goods trains collided with each other at Onda railway station in West Bengal’s Bankura on Sunday morning.
The accident led to the derailment of several boogies of the trains.
“According to preliminary information, one of the goods trains was standing when it got hit by the other goods train,” says safety officer Dibakar Majhi at Onda station.
According to officials, train operations were halted on the Kharagpur-Bankura-Adra line.
“Fourteen trains canceled, 3 diverted and 2 short terminated due to the derailment of goods train at Onda station,” said South Eastern Railway officials.
