The Top 1,000 World’s Best Hotels list was compiled by the French business La Liste. Its rankings are not the product of an in-person inspection by a panel of judges; rather, they are the result of an analysis of consumer reviews on travel websites, reviews that have been published in travel publications, coverage in national and local media, and ratings from other travel guides. It follows a similar format and methodology to that of the company’s best-known namesake global restaurants list.
Helene Pietrini, managing director of La Liste, said she saw a gap in the market for a resource that pulls together various reviews into one place that travellers can scroll through to get their imagination going.
