Recently, former actor and singer Suchitra Krishnamoorthi has been revealing a lot of details about her personal life. Now, she has opened up on the time when she had jokingly asked director Ram Gopal Varma to marry her, but he took her seriously and got ‘scared’, asking her to step away from him.

“Ramu, will you marry me?” Suchitra texted RGV, according to her memoirs Drama Queen. RGV responded by calling him a “horrible” man who just uses women for “sex” and advising her to keep as far away from him as possible. He was cited in the book as stating, “Suchitra I believe you misinterpreted what I said. Completely. We have nothing in common. Never. I don’t think marriage is a sacred institution. Simply said, I’m not the marrying kind. I solely use women for sexual purposes, and I’m certain that’s not what you desire. I don’t like women’s intellect, but I adore their body. A woman should, in my opinion, be seen, not heard.

In her latest interview, Suchitra cleared the air and said that while she did send that text, it was all fun and games, but RGV took it so seriously. She further added that rather than the text itself, it was RGV’s reaction that was funnier. Suchitra and RGV have worked together in My Wife’s Murder and Rann.

Moving on, Preity Zinta claims that everything has not been forgiven despite Suchitra blaming her for her failed marriage to director Shekhar Kapur years prior. The actress, who accused the director of infidelity and called off her marriage about 15 years ago, said that she still hasn’t forgave Preity and that there’s no need to now as she doesn’t even exist in her eyes.

Suchitra and Shekhar got married in 1997 and divorced in 2006.
