Rescue Operations Intensify for Trapped Workers in Telangana Tunnel Collapse

Efforts are underway to rescue eight individuals trapped in a partially collapsed tunnel of the SLBC project in Telangana. Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, who visited the accident site in Nagar Kurnool District, reported that while the exact location of the trapped workers remains unknown, the government is dedicated to expediting the rescue operation.

The Chief Minister stated that the rescue efforts will accelerate once a damaged conveyor belt is repaired, which is essential for transporting debris and facilitating access to the trapped individuals. Preliminary assessments suggest that rescuers have a general idea of where the workers and machinery are located, but confirmation is pending.

Rao indicated that the operation could take an additional two to three days to reach a pivotal stage, after which a clearer plan for the rescue will be established.
