1.Shani shignapur(Maharashtra)

Anyone can walk into your home or shop in Shani Shignapur; there are no doors and no locks. But no one will steal. If someone does, they will suffer from ‘sade-sati’, a period of seven years of bad luck. Lord Shani, the god of Saturn, is protecting the village. Such is the faith of the people who live in this small town in Ahmednagar (a two-hour drive from Shirdi) district of Maharashtra.

 

2.Mayong(Assam)

Mayong is the Land of Black Magic and Witchcraft , many tales of men disappearing into thin air, people being converted into animals, or beasts being magically tamed, have been associated with Mayong. and its also known for magical treatment of diseases , ayurveda, palmistry , and future prediction.

3.Pilantri(Rajasthan)

 

Piplantri is a village located in Rajsamand district in Rajasthan State, India. The villagers of Piplantri plant 111 trees every time a girl child is born and the community ensures these trees survive, attaining fruition as the girls grow up. To ensure financial security, after the birth of a girl child, the villagers contribute Rs 21,000 collectively and take Rs 10,000 from the parents and puts it in a fixed deposit ,which can be broken when she turns 20. To make sure that girl child receives proper education, the villagers make the parents sign an affidavit which also restricts them from marrying her off, before she attains the legal age for marriage.

 

4.Mawlynnong(Meghalaya)

Mawlynnong is a small village situated around 90 km from Shillong in the East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya and is also known as God’s own Garden. It was declared as the cleanest village in Asia in 2003 by Discovery India which certainly which makes it one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Indian state.
