This study, which analyzed the real diets of 55,000 people in the UK and data from 38,000 farms across 119 countries, provides substantial evidence that dietary choices play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our planet.

Led by Professor Peter Scarborough at Oxford University, the study found that switching to a vegan diet resulted in:

The research provided one of the most comprehensive analyses to date, using actual diets instead of modeled estimates. Unlike previous studies that relied on general assumptions, this study tracked the real-world environmental impact of different dietary choices.
Why Are Animal-Based Diets More Harmful?
The study found that the type of food consumed had a greater impact on the environment than where or how it was produced. Even the lowest-impact meat, such as organic pork, was still found to cause eight times more climate damage than the most environmentally impactful plant-based foods, such as oil seeds.
