Christopher Nolan’s biopic ‘Oppenheimer,’ based on the life of American physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb, has won enormous worldwide praise.

Oppenheimer’s position as director of the Los Alamos Laboratory during the Manhattan Project is explored in the film.

Prior to the film’s release, Nolan indicated that intimate moments featuring Cillian Murphy had to be cut to accommodate the Indian audience.

The film, however, sparked controversy when the Censor Board of Film Certification kept a scene in which Murphy reads the Bhagavadgita while having sex with Florence Pugh.

It has sparked numerous disputes on social media.
Cillian Murphy’s portrayal of Oppenheimer has been lauded by both spectators and critics, demonstrating his brilliance in the key role.

Actress Florence Pugh, who plays Oppenheimer’s ex-wife Jean Tatlock, also received accolades for her performance.

Despite the controversy surrounding the censorship decisions, ‘Oppenheimer’ has received favourable reviews and continues to do so.

The picture features an extraordinary ensemble cast, including Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Rami Malek, and others, and is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning biography ‘American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer’ by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin.

‘Oppenheimer’ was released in theatres on July 21, 2023, and has since become a box office success.
