UPI Lite has now been made available on Google Pay’s platform. Making quick and modest payments is made simpler and faster by the functionality. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) created UPI Lite, a digital payment solution that was introduced by the Reserve Bank of India in September 2022. Without providing a PIN, customers may send up to Rs 200 from their UPI Lite account with a single tap. Due to this, UPI Lite is perfect for sending speedy payments for simple purchases like groceries, snacks, and cab fares.Google Pay states that with UPI Lite now available on the platform, the company aims to make digital payments simple, fast, and reliable. UPI Lite has been rolled out on Google Pay, enabling users to make fast and one-click UPI transactions without needing to enter the UPI PIN. The LITE account will be linked to the user’s bank account but will not not rely on the issuing bank’s core banking system in real-time. The launch of UPI Lite comes weeks after its rivals Paytm and PhonePe rolled out the same feature on their platform apps.  Notably, as of now 15 banks support UPI LITE with more banks to follow in upcoming months.
