2. Professional certifications from recognized institutions are also accepted.

3. Exam Mode: GATE is conducted online, allowing candidates to take the exam from designated centers across the country.

Rules and Regulations for GATE Exams

1. Admit Card and Identity Proof: Candidates must carry their admit card and a valid photo-identity proof (such as a driving license, Aadhaar card, PAN card, etc.) to the examination hall.

2. Biometric Information: Biometric information (photograph and fingerprints) may be captured for randomly selected candidates before the start of the examination.

3. Scribble Pads: Candidates are provided with scribble pads for rough work. They must write their name and registration number on the pad before using it.

4. Electronic Devices: Carrying mobile phones, even in switched-off mode, or any other electronic device capable of communication inside the examination hall is strictly prohibited. Violation of this rule leads to disqualification.

5. Communication: All forms of communication among candidates inside the examination hall are prohibited.

6. Tampering with Equipment: Candidates should not tamper with the computer or related hardware provided in the examination hall. Willful tampering may result in cancellation of candidature and legal action.
