Today at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presided over the GST Council’s 50th meeting. Pankaj Chaudhary, the Union’s State Minister for Finance, was with her. At its 50th meeting on Tuesday, the GST Council made judgments on a number of issues, including the taxation of online gambling, the redefinition of utility vehicles, and the GST rate on food sold in movie theaters.

According to Sitharaman, the Council considered the GoM suggestions on online gambling before deciding on a 28 percent GST on the whole face value of online gaming, horse racing, and casinos. She added that internet gambling will be included in the GST bill.
